In addition to his deep R&D, technology commercialization and product management experience, Marek has contributed to some of the most innovative process plants.

 

Huaneng changxing power plant

Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Blowdown Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD). The world's largest Forward Osmosis (FO) plant and the first commercial Membrane Brine Concentrator (MBC) deployed into the Chinese Market and into FGD treatment. Winner of POWER magazine's 2016 Water Award and Global Water Intelligence's Award of Distinction as Water Project of the Year 2015. 600 ton/day feed.

SVP, Technology Oasys Water, Inc. Responsible for bid preparation support and process design and leading detailed design of RO and MBC.


yangmei taihua coal-to-chemical (CTX)

The second project win for the MBC technology to the CTX market with waste-water being reused for boiler make-up.

 


guohua huaneng mbc pilot

Responsible for the team that executed the first demonstration of the MBC technology in Chinese coal fired power plant.                                                                                                                                                                                          


duke edwardsport igcc 

Responsible for over 250,000 gallons of FRP and Steel tankage; 23,000 ft3 of solid chemical storage and delivery equipment; ten liquid chemical dosing skids; and solids dewatering system including a 150 HP of air compressor at this 55,000 m3/day water plant at this innovative IGCC plant.                                                                     


WSWRI Replacement Flows Project 

Developed BWRO and ancillary P&IDs and completed project engineering for this municipal wastewater reuse treatment plant in Sydney , Australia.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    



Zhongtian ordos coal-to-olefins (CTO)

ZLD Waste Water treatment for the world's largest CTO project, a $3.2 billion CAPEX joint venture between Sinopec and China Coal. When commissioned in 2017  this will leapfrog Changxing as the world's largest forward osmosis plant by a factor of 5.

EPRI WRC MBC pilot

Responsible for deployment of a successful demonstration of the MBC technology for FGW water treatment and ELG compliance at the Electric Power Research Institute's (EPRI) Water Research Center (WRC) located at Plant Bowen Power Station in Georgia. 


marcellus and permian mbc pilots

Designed the world's first MBC plant and ran pilots on Marcellus produced water and Permian produced and flow-back water just outside of Midland, TX.

Project Engineering for two tertiary wastewater treatment plant utilizing Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) and tertiary ultrafiltration (UF) membranes.  MBR experience also includes detailed design of mixed industrial and municipal plant in Victorville, CA.

Completed plant improvements and troubleshooting projects on the 200,000 m3/day Hamma (Algeria) SWRO (Sea Water Reverse Osmosis) desalination plant and managed a sub-contractor completing a plant wide surge analysis and other plant improvement projects on the City of Minneapolis’ 300,000 m3/day Columbia Heights UF (Ultra Filtration) drinking water plant.

Lead project engineer at GE Water and Power responsible for design of an Electrodialysis Reversal (EDR) plant at this innovative Desalination plant in Yolo County, CA. Also responsible for engineering an EDR project located at Spring Gully, Australia


Western Corridor Recycled Water Project 

Project Engineer on the Gibosn Island AWTP Demonstration Plant, a three stage BWRO municipal wastewater reuse project in Brisbane Australia.

Developed proposal, engineering and delivered two chlorine dioxide systems for once through sea water condenser microbial control.  These were two of 100+ sites globally that the Oxychlor MG and MGFP chlorine dioxide generators designed by Marek DuPont have been deployed to.
